Jodie vs. Joshua!
Jun 13, 2025
Happy Thursday! πππ
This divorce between Jodie Turner-Smith and Joshua Jackson just gets messier and messier as the days go by!
The ex-spouses are back in court, as they are now battling over their daughter Juno's education and custody agreement.
Joshua filed an emergency custody order modification because Jodie enrolled their daughter in a new school without Joshua's permission. Apparently, they'd both previously agreed that Juno's schooling would be something that they'd work through together. πππ
Additionally, it was also agreed upon that any new school wouldn't be further than 45 minutes from Joshua's home, as he regularly takes his daughter to school daily.
It seems that Jodie has violated that agreement by not only enrolling Juno into a new school, but the school is outside of the agreed upon radius.
Joshua believes that Jodie is trying to create a situation to where he won't be readily available to reach Juno, thus allowing Juno to travel with Jodie whenever she's working outside of Los Angeles. βοΈβοΈβοΈ
The "Dawson's Creek" actor also believes that his ex-wife doesn't understand the need for Juno to have consistency in a traditional classroom setting, as (according to Joshua) Jodie believes in on-set tutoring and one-on-one education.
And now, both exes have written letters to each other, pleading their case in court. Joshua says that it's important for him to be a regular, steady part of Juno's life, and Jodie says that because Juno is a biracial, it's important that Juno be with her Black mom.
Apparently, Jodie had arranged to take Juno to London for five weeks while working, and to Morocco for an extended amount of time. Joshua objected, saying that it was far too long for him to go without having contact with his daughter. Jodie explained that her mother would be watching Juno while Jodie was working, so she wouldn't be with strangers. π¬π¬π¬
Joshua says that Jodie has a history of taking their daughter without informing him first, citing an "issue" that occurred last year where Jodie let him know about her travel plans with Juno only after Juno was on her way to London or already there.
For Jodie's part, she writes: πππ
βI want to raise the subject of something that has been weighing heavily on me β and itβs grounded not just in instinct or emotion, but in widely established research. Before Juno was born, you and I spoke at length about what she would need to grow into a strong, self-assured young person.β
βCentral to those conversations was the importance of the maternal bond β and more specifically, the critical role that being close to her Black mother would play in shaping her identity and self-esteem.β πͺπͺπͺ
βResearch consistency shows that for biracial children, particularly with a Black mother, that connection is not peripheral β it is foundational. It plays a vital role in identity formation, emotional resilience, and long-term psychological well-being.β
"These arenβt abstract ideas. Theyβve lived, daily realities that Juno is already beginning to experience. And the consistency of our time together β especially when school is out and thereβs space for deeper connection β is one of the most effective ways to support her through them.β

There's A LOT going on here...
So, what do y'all think about this? Who's right? Who's wrong?
Do you see this working out favorably for either Joshua or Jodie? π
