Last night, the annual MET Gala was held in NYC, and it did not disappoint!
The theme of the evening was "Superfine: Tailoring Black Style," a celebration of Black dandyism and the influence of Black style in fashion history.
And Black Hollywood absolutely showed up and showed out, highlighting an array of Black designers and historical Black fashion trends. 💃💃💃
For the first time, I actually watched the red carpet show (hosted by E! News) in its ENTIRETY!
My TOP THREE looks of the evening are as follows:
1) ZENDAYA 🥇🥇🥇
The best look of the night was Zendaya... HANDS DOWN!
My goodness, her tailor-made pantsuit was nothing short of classic, sleek elegance that was CLEARLY a nod to style ICONS, Ms. Diana Ross and Bianca Jagger!
Zendaya's look was absolute PERFECTION!!!
2) NICKI MINAJ 🥈🥈🥈
My (close) second favorite look of the night was Nicki Minaj!
I don't follow Nicki's career, but I've never seen her so polished and REFINED! Her look fit the theme to a tee, very much reminiscent of legendary opera singer, Marian Anderson, during the Harlem Renaissance!
3) KEKE PALMER 🥉🥉🥉
My third favorite look was Keke Palmer!
She looked absolutely RADIANT in her wedding gown/tuxedo ensemble! Very chic!
And, of course, there were several other looks that made a splash!
