Happy Thursday! 😍😍😍

Gabrielle Union and her six-year-old daughter, Kaavia, were recently featured in People Magazine's "World's Most Beautiful" issue.

During the interview, the mother-daughter duo engaged in a lighthearted Q & A about fashion, while also reviewing some of Gabby's red carpet looks. πŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒπŸ’ƒ

It was all really meant to be a sweet interview, showcasing the bond between Gabby and her baby girl...

HOWEVER...

The moment that went viral is when Kaavia asked her mom why she always wears wigs.

And, honestly, no one should AT ALL be surprised by that question because KIDS NOTICE E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G!!! 🧐🧐🧐

All they do (especially at that young and impressionable age) is PAY ATTENTION TO YOU!

So, when Kaavia asked that question, Gabby was taken aback, but she truly shouldn't have been.

More than likely, the *real* reason why Gabby was taken aback was because she was confronted by her daughter in the presence of MIXED COMPANY... πŸ’…πŸ’…πŸ’…

As if white people don't see you CLEARLY CHOOSING to wear hair that doesn't at all mimic your own!

Read an excerpt below:

Kaavia: And why do you always like wearing wigs?

Union: Ooh, triggered. Because I like to switch it up. I like to switch up my look. Because sometimes I want to have short hair and sometimes I want to have long hair, sometimes I want to have blonde hair. And with wigs, I can do all those different things and play all these different kinds of characters.

Union: Why do you like to wear wigs?

Kaavia: So I can have long hair.

Union: But you do have long hair.

Kaavia: Not poofy long hair. πŸ™…β€β™€οΈπŸ™…β€β™€οΈπŸ™…β€β™€οΈ

Union: You do have poofy long hair, and silky straight long hair, and curly long hair. You just like change, right?

Kaavia: Yes.

Here's the deal, folks...

You CANNOT expect your impressionable child to appreciate something that YOU DO NOT! πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

The baby said that she does NOT want "poofy long hair" because she NEVER sees her mother wearing POOFY HAIR!!!

More often than not, when Gabby gets dressed up, glitz and glam, Kaavia sees that mama is opting to wear 25 inches of some Asian/Malaysian/Polynesian/Peruvian/Indian woman's hair CASCADING down her back!

To be able to FLIP & TOSS ALL NIGHT!

At six years old, Kaavia ALREADY KNOWS that is what's considered "beautiful" because she KNOWS that's when HER MAMA feels most beautiful! πŸ™†β€β™€οΈπŸ™†β€β™€οΈπŸ™†β€β™€οΈ

Just look at the pics in this interview!

Gabby is wearing 25 inches of someone else's hair...

You think Kaavia isn't taking notes? 😏😏😏

So, when Gabby *tries* to change the narrative *in front of mixed company,* Kaavia simply isn't having it!

"Not poofy long hair."

That baby is like, "Mama, I don't see YOU walking around here with poofy long hair, so why do you think *I* should want that for myself?" πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Kaavia is already developing the same complex that the majority of Black girls have, and this is NOT white people's fault!

This is not the media's fault.

NOPE!

In 2025, this is SOLELY the fault of Black people, and Black women for WILLINGLY CHOOSING to uplift, encourage, and support the continued practice of wholeheartedly believing that ANY HAIR IS BETTER THAN NATURAL BLACK HAIR!

And that is shameful.

Just be honest. It's not about switching it up. πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

If it were solely about switching it up, Black women would have an ENDLESS NUMBER of natural wigs -- long, short, mid-length, bobs, ponytails, puffs, blonde, chestnut brown, hombre, red, jet black, etc.

But they don't.

Instead, they have all of those I mentioned... but in Asian/Malaysian/Polynesian/Peruvian/Indian hair.

As I've said, the great majority of Black women are NOT trying to COMPLETELY switch up their hair styles like Kim Fields' "Regine" on Living Single. πŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈπŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

Nope. Not at all.

Most Black women really do believe that white women's hair/white adjacent hair is superior to Black hair... πŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈπŸ€¦β€β™€οΈ

And in 2025 when Black women swear that they know better, it's truly a shame that they aren't doing better!

And that is a CHOICE, my friends... πŸ’…πŸ’…πŸ’…

Check out the pics of Gabby & Kaavia! Your thoughts?
