Happy Juneteenth, Coffee Talkies!
Wishing you a joyful and proud Juneteenth! May we celebrate freedom, honor our history, and remember the courage of our ancestors.
This Juneteenth marks the opening of the Obama Presidential Center located in Chicago!
And yesterday, we were treated to the televised grand opening celebration!
It was so beautiful to see all of the speakers, performers, respected former presidents and politicians, and the Obama family!
I was literally brought to tears as I watched President Obama's lovely family take the stage. I was reminded of how merely just a few years ago, we saw their faces regularly.
We knew that President Obama wasn't going to do anything to harm Black women because he had his GORGEOUS Black wife and Black daughters at the center of all his decisions.
And now, sadly, we have NONE OF THAT.
It's so incredibly bad now that even some of the so-called "favorites" (with the loudest voices!) within these Black Women Empowerment (BWE) spaces fully support the current brand of FOOLISHNESS, IGNORANCE, AND BLATENT RACISM that is simply the status quo for the dolts in office.
As we embrace and celebrate this Juneteenth, let's remember what it was like to have true DECENCY, ATTRACTIVENESS, & INTELLIGENCE in office.
And let's also keep in mind that many of these folks TODAY don't ever want to see people who look like the Obamas in prominent positions of power ever again...
And just know that some of those people look EXACTLY like the Obamas...
But they think they're special because they're not like those "other" Black people...
For a BEVY of reasons...
