Autumn is officially here, so that means we get to indulge in some of our favorite fall things...
Hearty soups and harvest treats...
Fall foliage and fresh scents...
Cozy sweaters and comfy pullovers...
Cool days and even cooler nights...
Pumpkin spice and everything nice...
So, tomorrow night, why not relax, unwind, and take in one of Hallmark's "Fall into Love" seasonal movies!
Pumpkin Regatta Romance airs Saturday on the Hallmark Channel!
AND IT'S A BWWM MOVIE!!!
And just to be clear, it's a REAL BWWM movie!
Not one of those where you have to *squint* to see if the heroine is actually Black or if she just *plays Black* on TV!
Or if the hero is *actually white* vs. some other "ethnic" just to check the diversity box!

Pumpkin Regatta Romance looks to be your traditional, swoonworthy Hallmark fare -- but with a Black heroine coupled with a white hero -- which, unfortunately, is still very much an extreme rarity on Hallmark.
Hallmark has had a few "interracial" movies, but nine times out of ten, the heroine has been biracial!!!
And like I said, Pumpkin Regatta Romance is NOT THAT!
So hopefully, this is a BIG STEP in the right direction!
Read the movie's synopsis below:
When their fathers refuse to move past a disagreement, Nadine (Mishael Morgan), daughter of the boat shop owner, and Ethan (Corey Sevier), a pumpkin farmer, team up to heal the feud and revive the town's beloved Pumpkin Regatta. The pair must work together to save the eventโand may find something more than friendship along the way.

SIDE NOTE Can we just take a moment to actually APPRECIATE how good Mishael's hair looks in this movie?! I can't tell you how many INCREDIBLY BAD, UTTERLY HORRENDOUS WIGS Black women tend to wear in these Hallmark movies! It's truly, truly SHAMEFUL!!! Yes, Mishael is wearing additional hair (who doesn't in movies?!), but it's not silky strait and her side part is BELIEVABLE!!!

If you're a daytime soap opera fan, then you might recognize Mishael Morgan for her portrayal of twins Hilary Curtis and Amanda Sinclair on The Young & the Restless.
FUN FACT: Mishael won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for the role of Amanda Sinclair in 2022. That was the FIRST TIME IN HISTORY that a Black woman won in the lead actress category.
If you're a regular Hallmark viewer, then you'll recognize Corey Sevier.
That's worth mentioning because Corey is an attractive leading man, starring in several Hallmark fan favorite movies...
And that's noteworthy because BWWM onscreen romance works best when viewers are already invested in both the hero and heroine!
And that reason alone is usually enough to watch!
